Provide supply voltage, each I/O type and count, required protocol, panel dimensions, ambient conditions, installation country and requested delivery date. For a replacement, include the complete old part number, program availability and firmware context.
A useful digital-point schedule separates sinking and sourcing inputs, relay and transistor outputs, and loads that require interposing relays. Analog requests should identify signal range, required resolution, sensor power and whether channel isolation matters. For high-speed work, state encoder frequency, pulse-output target and the machine event that sets the timing limit.
Network requests need more than a protocol name. Include serial or Ethernet media, node count, existing addressing, update expectations, upstream controller and whether a gateway is acceptable. A Modbus link can be technically supported yet still fail the application if register mapping, byte order, polling interval or recovery behavior is not defined.
Panel context affects the shortlist. Record available DIN-rail length, internal cabinet temperature, enclosure IP rating, nearby variable frequency drives and the grounding approach. If the machine ships internationally, name the destination and the exact documentation the receiving authority or customer requires. Recognition or declaration for one part number cannot be extended to a neighboring model without evidence.
After submission, the application desk returns clarifying questions before treating the request as quotable. A proposed BOM records the controller family, expansion path, communications hardware, power assumptions and documents still awaiting confirmation. Lead time and commercial terms are provided only after exact part numbers and quantity are established.
Responses identify assumptions and open questions. Final machine safety, electrical code, arc-flash, cybersecurity and commissioning decisions remain with the responsible project professionals. Time-critical sequences should be bench-tested with the intended firmware and network load before production release.
